I found this oil painting of Peruvian women picking flowers at a local thrift store in California (2026). My girlfriend and I thought it was a pretty colorful scene, and the thrift store were asking next to nothing for it.
The artist signature looks like “Astete”.
It looks like someone had put some care into framing it, so curious about it I Googled for more information, but couldn’t find very much.
I found a couple of eBay listings with the same artist, although some oddly believe the spelling is “Estete”. I can’t quite see how the first letter could be an E, but maybe I’m wrong.

That’s all I could find, so thought I would put this online in case anybody else is searching for more information. I don’t know anything else, there was nothing on the back of the picture. It was just on a shelf with random unrelated items, mostly junk.
In case it isn’t clear, I only have the top one - I didn’t purchase the eBay auctions. It isn’t for sale, we quite like it and we found it on a memorable day, so it’s part of a fun story.
